I find myself looking forward to the morning, when I will come again to sit before my computer, to talk with God.

That isn't to say that we don't have our conversations throughout the day, but this morning stuff, it's special.

Last night I experienced my first Church Board meeting with only one ear. It was somewhat challenging. Increase the number of people in any one room and my ability to sift out the important from the mere "babble" gets difficult. But, it isn't anyone's fault; no one was "out of order." It is I who has to find a way to deal with it.

I like what Pastor E said about the four steps of prayer. I have come to realize the existence of the last two only recently in my faith journey. I guess, like for many others, my former prayers were something like a laundry list, wish list, or complaint log.

"Ok, God, here's what's bugging me today. I don't know why I need to tell You these things, because I am told You know all, but here goes..."

What a woeful view of God and his relationship with us!! When I think of the many years I have lost, not REALLY relating to Him, never listening, and not even knowing I was not open to Him.

I go to the Psalms each day. They are like music to me. Psalm 32:6-10 spoke to me this morning.

"Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.

Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him."

I pray today to be less of a horse or mule and more trusting in the unfailing love and guidance of Jesus.Betty Dygarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13228417023345371842noreply@blogger.com
