Luke in 40 - Luke 21

Luke 21:1-38

Our reading for today has to do with the end of times and the destruction of the temple. Once again, the disciples want to know when this will happen, what will the signs be. Jesus gives them some signs, but many are ones that happen periodically throughout time.

Why is it that we humans are obsessed with wanting to know when the end will be?

I think it is about our desire for control. If we know when the end will be, we have a bit of control, or at least we think we do.

But I also think we miss much when we are so focused on when this might happen - we miss living in the now. We miss the gifts of the day. We miss the people we are with.

What are you missing now?
