Luke 22:1-46
Now our readings enter into the last days of Jesus' life. It starts with the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, then the last supper that Jesus has in the upper room with his disciples, and then the time Jesus prays in the Garden, knowing that the end is near.
One of the powerful parts of today's reading is the meal Jesus shares with his disciples. This meal, which we celebrate as the Lord's Supper in worship, is central to Jesus ministry because in it he demonstrates that he is still with us. In this bread, in this cup - Jesus is present, he is here, and he is blessing us with his forgiveness and love.
What does communion or the Lord's Supper mean to you.
