Luke in 40 - Luke 8 cont.

Luke 8:40-56

Our reading today continues with Jesus healing. First it is a woman, another outsider who is unclean and should be nowhere near Jesus, who sneaks up behind him and believes that if she just touches the hem of his garment, she will be healed. And she was.

As she is healed Jesus senses that he has been touched. The woman admits to it, and then Jesus affirms what has already happened - the woman is healed.

While this is happening, the girl Jesus was going to see has died. So they send a message to Jesus that he need not come. Jesus says no, the child will still be healed. He goes to the girl, touches her, and calls her back to life.

In  what ways do you need to be healed today?
